Funding

Funding for Big Brothers Big Sisters comes from a variety of sources.  As we do not receive federal or state funds, we rely on contributions from businesses, local foundations and trusts, individuals and clubs.

Corporate Community Partners

Big Brothers Big Sisters receives contributions from hundreds of area businesses.  Without their generosity, we would be unable to serve the number of children we do each year.  Five corporations stand out for their commitment to our agency as Corporate Community Partners through a significant financial contribution.  Chase, Centennial Wireless, Do It Best Corp., International, National City and Steel Dynamics, Inc. have gone the extra mile in sponsoring fundraising events, setting an example for other companies to make an investment in youth for 2007.

United Ways

In 1981, Big Brothers Big Sisters  became a member agency of the United Way of Allen County.  We are currently funded by United Ways in Adams, Allen, DeKalb, Huntington, Kosciusko, Steuben, Wells, and Whitley counties in Indiana and Branch county in Michigan.

Endowment Funds

We have recently developed an Endowment Fund, one account at the Fort Wayne Community Foundation and one account at the Kosciusko County Foundation that will provide long-term stability for the agency.

Special Events

In addition to funding from the United Way and our endowment, important financial support comes from a variety of sources. We hold a variety of fundraising special events each year. These events are important, as they involve direct contributions from individuals in the community, as well as in-kind donations of products and services from many groups and businesses in our community.

We would welcome the opportunity to talk with individuals, businesses, organizations and foundations about other avenues of financial support.
